“i have to believe that
what we ache for inside of us
about who we want to become…
is an on-purpose thing.
that it’s a memory of our soul texture
and it’s an imprint on our compass.
something already a part of us
or something we’re surely destined to find.
and how it all unfolds, and the pathways
we have to take to get there,
and how exactly it all will look when we do…
that’s all maybe not so certain.
but if there’s an ache for it, then it’s on purpose.
and if we feel it, then it’s possible.
and some way, somehow…
we’re destined to find it;
we’re meant to become it.“

Published on November 23, 2023, the butterflies rising poem ‘i have to believe that what we ache for inside of us about who we want to become’, was written about the versions we feel inside of us that we don’t yet see existing in our tangible experience… the versions of ourselves that we dream of and ache for but don’t know how they will unfold. Those versions of ourselves can feel like impossible dreams that we don’t know how to manifest, versions that we fear we will never actually experience, but the poem is meant to embrace the belief that if we ache for them, then we’re meant to become them.
