Originally published in 2018, the butterflies rising poem ‘i’m here… wanting to know the shape of you, without having to lose my own.’ was first included in her poetry book ‘wild spirit, soft heart’ in the “relationships” section. In 2022, the author changed the wording of the poem just slightly and republished it in ‘she’s flowers and fire’. She wrote the poem to capture the vulnerable and honest feelings she has about struggling with the way relationships can feel like they are a choice between love and her sovereignty.
