The butterflies rising poem ‘i said, “i want to learn to trust you, but i don’t know how.”‘ was originally published on November 18, 2022, and shared on her social media accounts. After a repost of the poem on Facebook on July 24, 2023, the poem gained a lot of traction and butterflies rising saw how many people were connecting to it and so she was inspired to add it into her poetry book ‘she’s flowers and fire’.
This piece came from an actual conversation she had once with a boyfriend who had tried to be close to her, but she just couldn’t really allow it because of her trust issues. And one night, they had this conversation where she said to him… “i want to learn to trust you, but i don’t know how.” and his response was… “then don’t. learn to trust you. then see what your heart has to say about me, and follow that.”, and to this day, she feels like it was one of her favorite pieces of guidance that has ever been given her, and sh will hold it with her, always.
