The quote was originally published on November 21, 2015, with the word “may” instead of “can.” That was the version of the quote that butterflies rising shared publicly until 2018 when she was inspired to write a longer micropoem version called ‘clarity,’ which she published in her book ‘wild spirit, soft heart’. However, in 2022, she came back around to the streamlined version of the quote and made the one word change and decided to publish that version in her poetry inspiration journal ‘go where you breathe free’ and her 2nd poetry book ‘she’s flowers and fire.’
